Short answer: pick a tour and a date, book as many seats as you need — even a single one — and you pay for those seats, not for the whole group. Our group trips leave every day and go ahead whatever the head count, so there is no minimum to wait for. A group holds up to 18 people (the boat and the dacha food tour 10, quads 7), and the guide speaks English and Russian. Most groups gather at Azerbaijan Avenue 1; each tour page names its own spot.

One seat in a group, or the whole car?

A seat costs the same whether the group is full or half empty, and you share the day with other travellers. On a private trip the car, the guide and the start time follow your plans; it is priced per party, and collecting you from your hotel can often be arranged if you ask in advance. On your own?

Booking one seat is an ordinary booking here, not a special request: on a day trip one person pays one seat price, and nobody asks you to wait until others sign up. Notes on meals, safety and reaching the meeting point alone are in travelling solo from Baku.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a minimum number of people for a group departure?

No. Group dates run every day with whoever has booked, even if that is only you. The trip does not wait for a quorum.

How many people are in a group?

At most 18 on most tours. The Caspian boat ride and the dacha food tour take 10 at most, quad bikes 7. On a quiet day the group is often much smaller.

Where does a group tour start?

Usually at Azerbaijan Avenue 1 in central Baku. The Old City walk starts by the Maiden Tower, the boat sails from the Baku Marine Terminal by the seafront, and quads start at the trailhead (getting there is up to you). A few tours meet at another central point that we send when you book. The exact spot is on the tour page and in your confirmation.

Can I cancel a seat?

Yes. A day-trip seat can be cancelled at no cost until 24 hours before departure; for a multi-day route the cut-off is 72 hours.

Can I book a seat for tomorrow?

For most tours, yes — the calendar on each tour page is open from today. Karabakh is the exception: the permit needs passport details two days ahead, so its first bookable date is the day after tomorrow.
