Terms and Conditions

What you are agreeing to when you book with us

These terms apply to every tour and transfer booked through toursfrombaku.az. Where money and dates are concerned, our cancellation policy is part of these terms and goes into more detail than this page does.

Who you are contracting with

Tours From Baku, 52 Ahad Yagubov Street, Baku AZ1003, Azerbaijan — a tour operator running day trips and multi-day tours out of Baku, and private transfers across the country. info@toursfrombaku.az, +994 10 526 77 13.

We run most of what we sell with our own guides and drivers. Where a route needs a specialist — a mountain vehicle, a guide who actually lives in the village — we work with people we know, and either way we remain answerable to you for the trip.

A booking is a request until we confirm it

Sending the form on this site does not create a contract. It tells us what you want. We check the date, the vehicle and the guide, and write back. The contract exists from the moment you hold our confirmation with a booking reference, and it covers exactly what that confirmation says.

If we cannot take the booking we say so, and neither side owes the other anything.

Prices

Prices are set in Azerbaijani manat. Euro and dollar figures shown on this site are a conversion offered for convenience; the manat price is the one that applies. Tour prices are per person and transfer prices are per vehicle, unless the page says otherwise.

What a price covers is stated on the tour's own page. Where a page lists what is included, that list is the agreement; where it says nothing, ask before you book rather than after.

Some transfer fares appear as on request. The route exists, but the fare depends on the vehicle and the timing, and we will quote it.

Paying

No payment is taken on this site. There is no card form here and no payment page. You pay after we confirm, by the method we agree — in cash to the guide or driver, or by another arrangement made directly with us. From confirmation, the price is held for you.

Changing or cancelling

Read the cancellation policy. In short: cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before a day trip or 72 hours before a multi-day tour; reschedule free on the same terms if the new date has room; and where the cancellation is ours, a full refund or the same tour on another date, whichever you prefer.

When we change a trip

Weather closes mountain roads, and a road closed by snow is closed to us too. Where a stop cannot be reached safely we will substitute it, shorten the route, or cancel and refund in full — and you hear from us as soon as we know, not on the morning itself. Safety is the only reason we do this.

A group departure may need a minimum number of travellers. Where it does, the tour page says so; if the number is not reached, you are offered another date or your money back.

What we need from you

  • Be at the pickup point at the time on your confirmation. A vehicle that waits holds up everyone else in it; on a group departure we can hold for fifteen minutes.
  • Give us a pickup address a driver can actually find, and a phone number that will be answered that morning.
  • Carry the documents your day needs. Some routes pass close to borders or through areas where identification is checked.
  • Tell us before you book about anything that affects whether a route suits you — mobility, a medical condition, a pregnancy, a very young child. Several of our routes involve unpaved ground, altitude, or long hours in a vehicle.
  • Look after the children in your party. They remain your responsibility throughout the day.

A guide may end a person's day where their behaviour puts other travellers or the driver at risk. Nothing is refunded in that case.

What we are responsible for, and what we are not

We are responsible for running the trip you booked with reasonable care and skill, and for what our guides and drivers do at work.

We are not responsible for what is genuinely outside our control: weather, road or border closures, strikes, a venue shutting without notice, or your own flight arriving late. We are not responsible for possessions left behind in a vehicle, though we will always try to get them back to you. Our liability for any one booking is limited to what you paid for it — except where the law does not permit that limit, which includes death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Travel insurance is your own affair, and we recommend having it.

Reviews and anything else you write

A review published here has to come from someone who actually travelled with us, and we check it against the booking. By sending one you allow us to publish it — in full or shortened for length — and to translate it. We remove reviews that identify other travellers, contain abuse, or describe a trip that did not take place. We do not delete a review for being unflattering, and we do not write them ourselves.

The site itself

The text and photographs here are ours and are not free to reuse. Quoting a sentence with a link back is fine; copying a page is not.

We work to keep every price, time and description accurate, and we correct mistakes as we find them. An obvious error — a price with a digit missing — does not oblige us to run a tour at that price. We will tell you, and you can take the real price or cancel at no cost.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the courts of Baku deal with anything that cannot be settled between us. Try us first: info@toursfrombaku.az, with your booking reference.

Changes

The terms that apply to your booking are the ones published on the day we confirmed it. Later changes do not affect it.
