About Tours From Baku

Day trips and 2–5 day routes, run out of Baku

We run our own trips out of Baku

Tours From Baku is a small Azerbaijani operator. Most of what we run is a day out of the capital and back the same night, without the day turning into an ordeal: Gobustan and the mud volcanoes, the Khan's Palace at Sheki, the road that climbs to Khinalig. For longer journeys there are routes of two to five days. We drive them with our own people and sell them at the price printed on the page.

How a trip with us works

You choose the day, we confirm it, and you know the meeting point before you travel. Most group day trips leave from Azerbaijan Avenue 1, by the car park; each tour page names its own point. One fixed place is what keeps the start time honest for everybody on board. Several routes can also be booked privately, and then the vehicle, the guide and the timing belong to you alone — hotel pickup is often possible then, agreed in advance.

Distances, stated honestly

Azerbaijan is larger than the map makes it look. Sheki is three hundred kilometres away; Lankaran is further still. So every tour page carries its own number — eight hours, twelve, fourteen — and we do not round it down to make the page look friendlier. A route sold as a short day and delivered as a long one costs you exactly the evening you were saving.

Who takes you

Our guides work in English and Russian on every tour, and in Turkish on some. They are people who learned these roads by driving them. That is the difference you feel at four in the afternoon: which of the two Gobustan entrances the coaches actually use, where on the Quba road it is worth stopping while the light holds, which teahouse is open in November.

Why book here

  • Direct with the operator

You are booking with the company that runs the tour, not a marketplace reselling it. The person answering your question is the one arranging the car.

  • The duration is the real one

Twelve hours means twelve. The long routes are labelled long, so you can plan the rest of the day around them instead of against them.

  • Eighteen at most

Eighteen people is the ceiling on a group departure. Nobody spends the afternoon waiting for a coach to fill up again.

  • Nothing decided on the day

The price on the page is the price we charge. If a route has a ticket or a meal outside it, we tell you before you book, in writing.
