What we collect, why we hold it, and how to have it removed

This page says what happens to information about you when you use toursfrombaku.az. It is written to be read.

Who we are

Tours From Baku, a tour operator working out of Baku, Azerbaijan.

  • 52 Ahad Yagubov Street, Baku AZ1003, Azerbaijan
  • info@toursfrombaku.az
  • +994 10 526 77 13, also WhatsApp and Telegram

Write to that address about anything on this page, including having your data deleted.

What you give us

When you book. Your name, email address and phone number, and which messenger you prefer. The date you want, how many people are travelling and their ages. Where we collect you — a hotel and room number, or a street address. A flight number, if it is an airport transfer. Anything you type into the notes field. We ask for these because a driver cannot collect a guest he cannot find.

When you write to us. Your name, your email address and your message.

When you leave a review. The name you sign it with, the review itself, and the country or city you say you are from.

We never take card details. There is no payment on this site — no card form, no payment page, nowhere to type a card number. A booking here is a request; we confirm availability first and payment is arranged afterwards.

What is recorded automatically

The server logs every request with the IP address it came from, the browser's user-agent string, the page asked for, the page that sent you, and the time. That log is how we tell a reader from a crawler and find out what is broken.

We do not ask visitors for their location. The browser's location permission is requested only inside the staff area, from our own staff, while they are signed in.

Cookies and browser storage

  • currency — remembers whether you read prices in manat, euros or dollars. Ours, one year.
  • A session cookie, set only if you sign in or start a booking. It goes when you close the browser.
  • tr_vid and tr_sid, kept in your browser's own storage rather than in a cookie — a random number that lets us count one person reading four pages as one person instead of four. It is not a name and we cannot turn it into one.
  • Google Analytics, property G-BLT6V80B6V, sets cookies of its own. Google's privacy policy governs those.
  • Yandex Metrica, counter 113388712, also sets cookies of its own; Yandex's privacy policy governs those. Its session recording (Webvisor) is switched off.
  • If your device is set to a time zone in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, neither counter starts until you press "Allow" in the bar at the bottom of the page. Your answer is kept in your browser; clear the site's data to be asked again.

Blocking any of this will not stop you booking. Blocking the currency cookie means choosing your currency again next visit.

Why we hold any of it

To run the trip you booked. To answer you. To publish reviews people ask us to publish. To keep accounts, as the law requires. And to see which pages help and which waste your time.

We do not sell anything about you, we carry no advertising, and we do not send marketing email to people who did not ask for it.

Who else sees it

  • Our own staff, and the guide or driver working your day — who gets your name, your phone number and the pickup point, and nothing else.
  • Hostinger, who host this site and carry our email.
  • Google, through Analytics.
  • Anyone the law obliges us to tell.

Hostinger and Google process data outside Azerbaijan. Using this site means that happens.

How long we keep it

  • Bookings — three years after the trip, which is what keeping accounts requires.
  • Messages sent through the contact form — twelve months.
  • Server request logs — twelve months.
  • Published reviews — until you ask us to take yours down.

What you can ask for

A copy of what we hold about you. A correction. Deletion. That we stop using it for something. Write to info@toursfrombaku.az with enough detail to find the record — a booking reference is fastest — and you will hear back within thirty days. There is nothing to pay.

Deleting a booking that has already been invoiced is the one thing we may have to refuse until the accounting period closes. We will say so rather than go quiet.

Children

This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from one. Children travel with us often — booked by an adult, whose details we hold rather than theirs. Ages are recorded because pricing and seating depend on them.

When this changes

The date below moves when the text does. A change affecting what we do with information already collected will be published here before it takes effect.
