Four days along Azerbaijan's Silk Road. This tour from Baku follows the old caravan route west into the Greater Caucasus — the mosque town of Shamakhi, the green resort of Gabala, and the UNESCO city of Sheki with its jewel-box Khan's Palace. A guide and transport are included, whether you join the group departure or book the route as a private trip — each has its own price.
Day by day
Day 1 — Baku & the Old City
Meet your guide, then Baku: Highland Park, the Boulevard and the walled Old City with the Maiden Tower and the Shirvanshahs' Palace.
Day 2 — Shamakhi & Gabala
West to the Shamakhi Juma Mosque, one of the oldest in the Caucasus, then forested Ismayilli and up to Gabala — the Tufandag cable car, the Seven Beauties waterfall and mountain air. Overnight in Gabala.
Day 3 — Sheki, the Silk Road jewel
The UNESCO Khan's Palace with its shebeke stained glass set without a single nail, the 18th-century caravanserai, and the sweet-makers of the old town. A taste of Sheki's famous piti if you like.
Day 4 — return to Baku & departure
A scenic drive back with photo stops, then the trip ends in Baku.
