From Quba to the Airport

Distance
150 km
Driving time
2h 15m

Two and a quarter hours for 150 km down the northern highway, and the terminal arrives before Baku does — the airport sits on the north side, so this run never crosses the city. The road is on the Baku to Quba page. That geography makes this the easiest flight to time of any regional departure we run.

The sum is gentle here. Three hours before an international departure plus two and a quarter of road is five and a quarter committed, so a midday flight means leaving Quba around seven rather than in the dark. The bus is frequent on this corridor and genuinely cheap, but it ends at a terminal in Baku and you would then cross the city to the airport — the one leg where the car's advantage is not comfort but not missing the plane. On request, because a car that waited for you and one sent up are different journeys; add the mountain leg if you are coming down from Khinalig and it is priced as one movement.

What each car costs on this road

Prices are per car, not per seat — which is why four people usually pay less each than four bus tickets plus the taxi at the far end. There is no separate one-way rate: a day trip comes back the same day, and if the car stays with you longer, the nights are added on the booking form.

What the price covers

  • The whole car, whether there are two of you or six
  • Collection at your address, not at a station
  • Fuel, road tolls and parking — nothing added at the end
  • A price agreed before you set off, with no meter running

Frequently asked questions

What time should we leave Quba?
Five and a quarter hours before departure covers it: two and a quarter of road and three at the airport. For a flight at midday that is a seven o'clock start, not a night one.
Does this route go through Baku?
No, and that is its advantage. The terminal is on the northern side of the city, so the highway delivers you to it without the centre at all.
Is the bus workable for a flight?
Only with a wide margin. It is frequent and cheap but ends at a bus terminal in Baku, leaving you a city crossing with luggage and a deadline.
We are coming down from Khinalig — can that be one booking?
Yes, and it should be. The mountain leg plus the highway priced as one movement is simpler and usually cheaper than arranging them separately, and it removes a handover on a morning you cannot afford one.
