From Gabala to the Airport

Distance
210 km
Driving time
3h

Three hours for 210 km, joining the airport road without crossing Baku; the road is described on the Baku to Gabala page. This direction has one job, and it is arithmetic. Airlines here ask for three hours before an international departure. Add the three-hour drive and you are committing six hours before wheels-up, which for a midday flight means leaving Gabala before dawn and for an evening one means giving up the last day.

The bus stops being a saving the moment a plane is involved. It runs to Baku's terminal, not to the airport, so you would add a transfer across the city at the end — with luggage, against a clock, on a timetable that is not yours. A car goes door to terminal on your schedule. Priced on request, because the fare turns on whether it is waiting for you here or being sent from Baku, and because an early-hours departure is not the same job as a mid-morning one.

What each car costs on this road

Prices are per car, not per seat — which is why four people usually pay less each than four bus tickets plus the taxi at the far end. There is no separate one-way rate: a day trip comes back the same day, and if the car stays with you longer, the nights are added on the booking form.

What the price covers

  • The whole car, whether there are two of you or six
  • Collection at your address, not at a station
  • Fuel, road tolls and parking — nothing added at the end
  • A price agreed before you set off, with no meter running

Frequently asked questions

What time should we leave Gabala?
Six hours before departure is the safe figure: three hours of road and three at the airport. For a flight at two in the afternoon that means leaving around eight.
Can we go straight to the airport without entering Baku?
Yes, and it is the point of this route — the airport road is joined on the northern side, so the city centre is never crossed.
Is the bus an option for a flight?
Not a good one. It ends at a bus terminal in Baku, so you would still need to cross the city to the airport, with luggage and a deadline. For anything else it is fine.
Why is the price on request?
Because a car waiting for you in Gabala and a car sent up empty are different journeys, and because a four-in-the-morning start is not the same booking as a ten o'clock one.
