From the Airport Straight to Quba

150 km and about two and a quarter hours, and this is the airport transfer that makes the most sense of any of them: the terminal sits on the north side of Baku, so the coastal highway is joined almost immediately and the trip is shorter from the airport than from the city centre. The road and what waits at the other end are on the Baku to Quba page.

Two and a quarter hours is survivable after a flight in a way that four is not, which is why this is the one airport run we do not usually argue you out of. The alternative — into Baku, sleep, bus in the morning — is cheaper and this corridor has frequent buses, so it remains a fair option if you are travelling light. What it will not do is carry on into the mountains: if Khinalig or Laza is the real destination, that second leg has no scheduled service at all and is priced separately.

What each car costs on this road

Prices are per car, not per seat — which is why four people usually pay less each than four bus tickets plus the taxi at the far end. There is no separate one-way rate: a day trip comes back the same day, and if the car stays with you longer, the nights are added on the booking form.

What the price covers

  • The whole car, whether there are two of you or six
  • Collection at your address, not at a station
  • Fuel, road tolls and parking — nothing added at the end
  • A price agreed before you set off, with no meter running

Frequently asked questions

How long is the airport to Quba?
About two and a quarter hours for 150 km — shorter than from the city centre, because the terminal is already on the northern side.
Is this sensible straight after landing?
More than most. Two and a quarter hours is a manageable drive even after an evening arrival, which is not true of the four-hour runs.
Can we carry on to Khinalig the same night?
We would rather you did not. The mountain road is another ninety minutes, it is unlit and in winter it needs clearance — it is a daylight leg, and we price it as its own.
Is the bus an alternative here?
From the city, yes — this corridor is well served. It does not start at the airport, so the comparison is really a night in Baku plus a bus against a car straight through.
