210 km and roughly three hours from the terminal, joining the western road without touching the city centre — about twenty kilometres shorter than the same trip from Baku, which the Baku to Gabala page describes properly. The driver meets you inside arrivals with your name and tracks the flight, so a delay moves the pickup rather than costing you the car.

The arithmetic is the thing to check. A lot of flights into Baku land late, and a midnight landing plus three hours of road puts you at a Gabala hotel at three in the morning, having paid for a night you spent in a car. The honest alternative is to get into the city, sleep, and take the intercity bus or a car the next morning — cheaper, and you arrive able to do something. This route earns its money on a daytime landing, with a group, or when the hotel is already booked and the week is short.

What each car costs on this road

Prices are per car, not per seat — which is why four people usually pay less each than four bus tickets plus the taxi at the far end. There is no separate one-way rate: a day trip comes back the same day, and if the car stays with you longer, the nights are added on the booking form.

What the price covers

  • The whole car, whether there are two of you or six
  • Collection at your address, not at a station
  • Fuel, road tolls and parking — nothing added at the end
  • A price agreed before you set off, with no meter running

Frequently asked questions

How long is the airport to Gabala?
About three hours for 210 km. It is slightly shorter than from the city because the road west is joined without crossing Baku.
Will the driver wait if my flight is late?
Yes, and there is no charge for the waiting a delay causes. He tracks the flight and meets you inside arrivals rather than at a kerb.
Is it better to stay in Baku first?
Often, and we would rather say so. After a late landing, three hours of road gets you to Gabala in the small hours; a night in the city and a morning departure usually costs less and wastes less.
Can we stop on the way?
Diri Baba and Shamakhi are on this road, but after a flight most people do not want them. Say so if you do and the stops are priced in rather than negotiated at the roadside.
